Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb sausage pork, chicken, or turkey
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add bell pepper, onion, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until vegetables soften, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in rice, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, coating the rice with the sausage and vegetable mixture.
  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
  • Let the skillet sit covered for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
